Frequently Asked Questions

How much do lessons cost?

Rates can vary depending on the level of tuition you want and the specialism of the subject. There is an outlining of our prices on our Price Plan page.

If you have any queries about pricing email our team at: info@educationhotel.co.uk

How am I billed?

The Education Hotel uses an online platform called TutorCruncher to bill clients. Clients can input their card details into their TutorCruncher profile to receive invoices and be charged.

We send invoices to clients at the end of every month and we charge 5 days later.

What is TutorCruncher?

TutorCruncher is our online platform for connecting clients with the right tutors. Once you have decided you would like to use our services The Education Hotel creates a ‘Job’ on TutorCruncher which tutors can apply for.

Clients are also able to logon to TutorCruncher to download educational resources and view regular lesson reports from their tutor to track their child’s progress.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, once you have decided you would like the The Education Hotel to supply you with a tutor there is a fee of £50. However, this fee will be deducted off your first lesson

When do lessons take place?

We have a range of services to suit your availability from online to residential. The majority of our one to one lessons take place after school or during weekends. Please visit our Price Plan page to find out what we offer.

Can my tutor come to my house?

This is location dependant, but our tutors do teach in person if we have someone near by. Travel expenses will be added to the cost for this service. Visit our In-Person Tuition page to find out more. We also offer bespoke Residential Tuition (please email info@educationhotel.co.uk for details).

What do I do if my family is based outside the U.K?

We have many international clients all around the world who use our popular Online Tuition Services. However, we also offer bespoke Residential Tuition (please email info@educationhotel.co.uk for details).

What happens if I don’t like my Tutor?

It happens rarely, but sometimes a tutor might not be the right fit for your family – in this case we will endeavour to find you a new tutor as soon as possible.

Online vs in-person – what are the benefits?

Online Tuition has the benefit of flexibility in the modern day. It can be taught in any location all you need is a laptop or tablet and you’re ready to go. Tutors can send resources to students using an online whiteboard which can be saved and brought up again for easy revision. This service is our most popular!

In-Person Tuition allows tutors engage students with science experiments, board games and physical activity. They can present knowledge in a different way than in the classroom. Our students love seeing their tutor each week and often ask to see them more than once. However, this service is location dependant.

What qualifications will my tutor have?

All our tutors come from the highest academic backgrounds, specialising in a full array of subjects at all levels. Prospective tutors are carefully screened, DBS checked and interviewed by our Director before becoming a tutor. We work with a small network of highly trusted tutors, only actively seeking out new employees when our clients have specific needs.

Visit our Meet The Tutors page to see just a handful of our popular tutors and their qualifications.

Clients are also able to see tutors qualification on our online platform TutorCruncher

How long does it take to find tutor?

Depending on specialism of the subject this time scale can vary. However, for most core subjects we aim to have several suitable tutors to offer clients within a week.

Which subjects do you offer? Can my child learn music, art or pottery?

Here at The Education we focus on core academic subjects and hire tutors accordingly. However, if you’d to explore other avenues we have a wide range of connection to find the right tutor for the job.
