Expert academic, interview and mentoring support for your students.
Top School and Uni works with schools to provide high-quality support for pupils, parents and staff, from mock interview days and university talks to specialist academic preparation and online 1:1 mentoring.
Practical, expert support that fits around the school day.
Schools are under increasing pressure to prepare pupils for entrance interviews, public exams, university applications and the broader demands of academic life. We help schools add targeted expertise without creating unnecessary workload for staff. Our work can be delivered in school, online, as a one-off event, or as a longer-term partnership.
For pupils
We help students build confidence, prepare for interviews and assessments, strengthen study habits, and understand what is expected at the next stage of their education.
For parents
We offer clear, accessible talks that help parents understand how to support their child at home, without adding panic, pressure or confusion.
For schools
We provide specialist support that complements your existing provision, reduces pressure on internal teams and gives families access to trusted academic expertise.
Our school partnership services
Schools can work with us in several ways, from single events to structured programmes. Each offer can be adapted to the age group, school priorities and the level of support required.
Mock interview days

Mock interview sessions for key transition years
Interviews are often the moment where students need to show maturity, curiosity, confidence and the ability to think aloud. Our mock interview sessions give pupils a realistic practice experience and clear feedback on how to improve.
Year 6
For pupils preparing for senior school interviews, 11+ interviews or scholarship conversations. We help students practise speaking clearly, answering thoughtfully and showing their interests beyond rehearsed answers.
Year 11
For students preparing for sixth form entry, scholarship applications or academic interviews. We focus on confidence, subject motivation, communication and the ability to reflect on strengths and ambitions.
Year 12
For students beginning university preparation, especially those considering Oxbridge, medicine, competitive courses or international applications. We help students practise academic discussion and develop a more mature interview style.
Parent talks that are useful, calm and practical.
Parents want to help, but they are often given either too little information or so much information that they feel overwhelmed. Our free parent talks give families practical advice they can use at home, while positioning your school as proactive, supportive and well-informed.
Popular talk topics
- How to support revision without taking over
- Understanding UK and international university applications
- Helping children develop better study habits
- Preparing for interviews and school entrance
- Supporting academic confidence at home
Designed to support the school
Talks can be delivered online or in person, and can be adapted to fit your school’s priorities. They work well as standalone parent events, part of an admissions or careers programme, or as added value for families during key academic years.
Specialist preparation for ambitious students.
Some pupils need targeted support that goes beyond the standard curriculum. Schools can partner with us to bring in experienced specialists for high-level preparation, whether that is scholarship work, medicine preparation, UCAT training or competitive university admissions.
Scholarship exams
Academic preparation for pupils aiming for scholarship pathways, including subject-specific extension, interview readiness and exam technique.
Medicine and UCAT
Support for aspiring medics, including UCAT preparation, application planning, interview preparation and understanding the demands of medicine admissions.
University entry
Specialist guidance for students considering competitive UK, US or global university routes, including subject choice, profile building and application strategy.
Academic stretch
Bespoke sessions for students who need deeper challenge, stronger study skills or additional academic confidence before an important transition.
1:1 mentoring that develops confidence, skills and direction.
Our school mentoring partnerships give students a structured journey with a dedicated mentor. The sessions are academic in focus, but the impact is broader: students become more organised, more reflective, more confident and better prepared for exams, interviews and applications.
The mentoring journey
Students receive bespoke 1:1 online sessions after school with a mentor selected for their academic background, experience and fit. Sessions can focus on study skills, revision, exam confidence, academic organisation, subject direction or university entry.
Support beyond the session
The programme can include bespoke resources for students and additional consultancy for parents, giving families a joined-up understanding of the student’s progress, priorities and next steps.
Mentoring can support students with:
Organisation, planning, revision methods and independent learning habits.
Confidence, preparation strategy, time management and academic resilience.
Course direction, application preparation, interviews and academic profile building.
Helping students speak clearly, reflect on their strengths and take ownership of their progress.
